Service Manager – Fire & Security

Location: Swindon (Hybrid, office up to 3 days per week)

Salary: c£50k

Benefits: £600pm Car allowance + Annual profit share bonus opportunity*

The Opportunity

We are working with an established Fire & Security business that is looking to appoint an experienced Service Manager to lead its service operations.

The successful individual will combine strong Fire & Security technical knowledge with proven people management and operational leadership experience across fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage the service team, including field-based engineers and service coordinators.
• Oversee the scheduling, planning and successful completion of service and maintenance works.
• Ensure contractual SLAs, service standards and compliance requirements are consistently achieved.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex engineering issues and customer concerns.
• Monitor KPIs and operational performance, identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.
• Conduct site visits, audits and regular team meetings to maintain quality and compliance.
• Manage stock, tools and equipment required to support efficient field operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring excellent levels of service and satisfaction.
• Work closely with installation and sales teams to support wider business operations.
• Ensure work is delivered in accordance with relevant standards including BS5839, BS6266, NSI, BAFE and SSAIB.
• Provide senior management with reporting covering service trends, engineer performance and customer satisfaction.

About You

We're looking for somebody with:

• Proven service management experience within the Fire & Security industry.
• Strong technical understanding of Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems.
• Experience with systems such as Honeywell, Texecom, Hikvision and Paxton would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of UK Fire & Security regulations and industry standards.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing engineering teams.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• A strong customer-focused approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Experience using service management/CRM platforms such as Dynamics 365 would be beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant qualifications including FIA Units, ECS/CSCS and manufacturer training would be advantageous.
