Overview

We are supporting an established Fire & Life Safety business looking to appoint a Fire Alarm Engineer to join its service team.

This is a hands-on position focused primarily on the service, maintenance and fault-finding of fire alarm and wider life safety systems across customer sites.

The business is open to experienced Fire Alarm Engineers as well as engineers looking to develop further, with ongoing training available across installation, servicing and commissioning.

The Role

The Fire Alarm Engineer will be responsible for maintaining fire and life safety systems across a portfolio of customer sites while ensuring work is completed safely, professionally and in line with relevant Irish Standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planned and reactive maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems
• Fault-finding and diagnostics across addressable and conventional fire alarms
• Carrying out remedial works following service visits
• Supporting fire alarm commissioning where required
• Working across emergency lighting and associated life safety systems
• Completing maintenance documentation accurately and on time
• Working in accordance with relevant standards, including I.S. 3218 and I.S. 3217
• Liaising directly with customers and providing clear technical updates
• Working independently while supporting the wider service team
• Participating in the on-call rota as required

Systems & Technical Experience

Experience across some of the following would be beneficial:

• Addressable fire alarm systems
• Conventional fire alarm systems
• Networked fire alarm systems
• Emergency lighting
• Fire alarm commissioning
• Fault-finding and remedial works
• General life safety systems

Previous experience on systems such as Advanced, Protec or similar platforms would be advantageous.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous Fire Alarm Engineer experience
• Strong service and maintenance background
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
• Experience with addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
• Knowledge of I.S. 3218 and I.S. 3217 beneficial
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full Irish driving licence held for at least 12 months
• Strong attention to detail around paperwork and compliance
