Business Development Manager US

Our client is a UK manufacturer of industrial PTZ cameras and lighting technologies, supplying into the CNI, Transport, Local Authority and Public Space sectors.

As part of their exciting expansion plans, a new vacancy has arisen for an experienced Senior Sales Manager to join the Global Sales Team, covering the US market territory. This is initially a home-based role, with business travel as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the company management team to derive and deliver a suitable sales/marketing strategy for their products in the US market
  • Develop appropriate sales channels for industrial camera and solutions range, meeting agreed targets and objectives
  • To manage and grow the existing manufacturer’s representative’s network, engaging new representatives as required
  • Pro-actively search for and qualify new customers/projects in specific market sectors
  • Through a network of relevant consultants and end users, pro-actively achieve specification of their products in project designs and tenders
  • Undertake business travel across the US and represent the business in exhibitions and tradeshows as required

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record of developing sales channels/sales strategies and successful customer relationships in a target-driven sales environment for similar, high-end CCTV solutions
  • Experience of meeting and/or exceeding challenging sales targets in previous roles
  • Specific sector experience should include one or more of the following utilities/energy, oil and gas, traffic and transport, public space
  • Existing consultancy/end users and systems integrator relationships in relevant sectors is desirable
  • A good technical knowledge and understanding of CCTV systems and associated products is an essential requirement
  • Educated to A’ Level standard (or equivalent) as a minimum - a business degree or similar would be advantageous
  • Confidence in directly interfacing with customers, consultants and the sales team, is an essential requirement.
  • Strong PC literacy with experience in MS Word, Excel and CRM software etc
