We get to know our Managed Service clients very well here at Zitko – and a conversation our Emily had with a key contact at Amberstone Technology recently really got to us…

Amberstone Technology’s Service Desk Manager, Kyle Jones, undertook the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on June 8th 2019 to raise money for a 4 year old little boy called Archie, who at 2 years old was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. For the last two years, Archie has been undergoing chemotherapy; with large amounts of medication to aid his recovery. Not the life that a bright, lively 4 year old boy should be living.

Living in the same community as Archie, Amberstone’s Kyle was inspired to set himself a challenge with local friends to support Archie and his family; giving them the opportunity to take Archie on much needed trips and activities that he has missed out on since being in hospital whilst poorly.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is a well-known endeavour, seeing walkers tackle the mountains of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in a single 24 hour period. When our Emily heard of Kyle’s plans, she was struck by his commitment to the challenge and his motivation to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. She immediately wanted to help and Zitko donated £360, which was a percentage of the fee for a placement made in Kyle’s team at Amberstone.

Since undertaking the challenge in June 2019, Kyle and his friends have surpassed their goal; raising over £1000 for Archie and his family. You can add to their fundraising total here.
