Established over 30 years, our client is a security installation, fire safety and maintenance business delivering projects across the UK and internationally. They are a specialist in their field, with a reputation for impeccable service standards. Customers are corporate building owners, CAT A and CAT B Fit-Out contractors, Mechanical & Electrical contractors and Facilities Management Service Providers.

Operating a 24/7/365 on-site response, they support site, project and contract managers with initial design, specification, supply, and installation through to on-going maintenance and monitoring of fire and security risk.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with experience in both Fire & Security to join their Installations Team. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing installation projects efficiently, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role will require interactions with installation engineers, installation coordinators, the projects office manager, and subcontractors.

Most of the work will be in and around London but there might be the odd project further afield.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, in collaboration with the project’s office manager.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee the installation process to ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and delays.
• Budget Control: Monitor project expenses, control costs, and report on financial status to the project’s office manager.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project closeout reports.
• Health and Safety: Enforce safety protocols on-site to guarantee the well-being of all team members and subcontractors.
• Resource Management: Coordinate with sub-contract teams, installation engineers and installation coordinators to assign tasks, allocate resources, and ensure timely project execution.
• Subcontractor Management: Collaborate with subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols, project timelines, and quality standards and guaranteeing value for money within projects budgets.
• Internal Communication: Maintain regular communication with project office manager and operations director to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

• Prince 2 certification (Desirable)
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) qualification (required).
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the fire and security industry or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of fire and security systems and their installation processes.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
